Name in Game: MIKEY

Steam Name: MIKEY

Server: Aberration

Location (cords): 26.9 61.5

Dinos Involved: NA

Players Involved: Symbiotic Hardware

Details:
Why would the game place the "Claiming Allowed Timer" on dinos on an active base? The "Claiming Allowed Timer" is not being allowed to work properly. I would think if the game considered a base to be active there would not be any "Claiming Allowed Timers" on dinos at that base. Either the base is inactive and considered abandoned by the game or it is active and should not have "Claiming Allowed Timers." Something needs to be fixed if the base is active. For the past three days the "Claiming Allowed Timer" decremented from 27 days to 24 days then suddenly today jumped back to 27 days. A claiming allowed timer should decrement not increment. The "Claiming Allowed Timer" on the dinos in the Symbiotic Hardware base do not appear to be working properly. Why have a "Claiming Allowed Timer" if it is not going to continue to decrement? Can this be fixed? Many thanks!!

Admin and Aberration might not be looking at this from the same point of view. I believe Admin is looking at it from the point of view that the Tribe is active and not inactive. However, it appears Aberration has decided the Base is inactive and placed the "Claiming Allowed Timer" on the dinos on what it believes to be an inactive base. I believe Aberration was programmed from the point of view when a Tribe creates a base it should be required to frequently use that base; however, I do not know how frequently was defined. The problem boils down to when is the "Claiming Allowed Timer" triggered, when the Tribe is inactive, or when the base in question is inactive. It is obvious Aberration triggers the "Claiming Allowed Timer" when Aberration considers the base in question to be inactive.

The timers in Ark start ticking down as soon as all tribe members leave a zone that has their structures and/or dinos in it. The timers get reset ONLY if the tribe members re-enter that zone.

For example, if you left dinos down in the purple zone in Ab... and don't return down there before the timer runs out, someone else can claim those dinos.

Another example, is if you leave the zone your base is in... like to search for another dino or do an artifact run... other players will see the timer on your base and dinos start ticking down.

The only thing that admin can do, is to adjust the timer lengths or disable them completely. Keep in mind, that there are separate length timers for thatch (shortest timer), wood (second shortest timer), stone, metal, and dinos.

The Ark PVE Server Rules: number 17. "Do not build a base that is not used. Ex: Do not log into the server to get the timers back to full. They will be removed by admins." implies the admins can change the "Claiming Allowed Timer." Rule 17. also says "Do not build a base that is not used." It looks like Rule 17 is the problem that needs to be fixed. Granted this is not an "Official" server and therefore can be modified. However, Rule 17 allows users to break Rule 10 "No taking massive amounts of land this includes inside caves. (Take only what you need)." Rule 10 would be enforced and Rule 17 fixed if Aberration was allowed to make the decision it was programmed to make by allowing the "Claiming Allowed Timer" to never be changed.

ok im not going to explain this again so pay attention

1. The timers are NOT broken

2. Hardware are an ACTIVE tribe who log in almost DAILY

3. The ONLY time you can claim dinos/demo bases is if the timer RUNS OUT

4. There is NOTHING in the rules that states that the timers would be invalid for an ACTIVE tribe

5. If I see another post from you about hardware's dinos I will delete it. You need to just let it GO.

Thank you Nyt, if you are not an Ark Administrator you should become one.
